Georg Friederich Horn built a stoneware factory in Hornberg for tableware in 1817. The company's later success was determined by the expansion of its product range to include sanitary ware. From 1950 onwards, the production of stoneware was replaced by the production of porcelain, and in 1960 a new name found its way into the sanitaryware sector: Duravit. Today, Duravit AG is an international group with 11 production sites and more than 7000 employees worldwide.
